With our new tiered offerings, there are parts of the platform that are free of charge.
You can choose the Free Access section with a selection of some content for you to view and read. Or you can sign up for the Navigator Plan which will give you access to the free content, 2 articles per month and allow you to contribute to the Discussion Boards. The Navigator Plan only requires registration and adherence to the platform Terms and Conditions of use.
As for WHY most of the content requires a paid subscription, there are two main reasons for this:
First, we want to ensure we provide subscribers with quality content consistently, and we want to ensure the conversations and engagements you have are on a well-designed and maintained platform with adequate security and privacy. There are costs to doing this and the subscription fees go towards meeting these costs.
Second, our intention is to keep the topics and form of discussions User-led. To do this, we must maintain independence from 3rd parties that could possibly require the discussions to go in a particular direction or that we avoid certain topics. Being self-sufficient enables us to remain independent and neutral.
We currently do not offer discounts for regular subscriptions. However, we are working on discounted packages for specific categories of subscribers - for example, students or large groups. When you first subscribe, you will have an ‘opt out’ window of seven (7) days. If you cancel your subscription within this window, we will refund your subscription fee (less minor administrative fees) and you will no longer have access to the website. If you cancel your subscription after this window, your subscription will continue until the end of the subscribed period and it will not renew thereafter.

While the content is tailored to those in the aviation industry in Africa, the Africans in Aviation website is open to subscribers from all industry. If you would like to know more about aviation in general – or to better understand the dynamics of aviation on the continent – you’re welcome to subscribe and engage.
Some of the content on the website is available for download and offline access. As you do this, however, please take care to give proper credit to Africans in Aviation and the specific content creator if you use the information as a reference.
Subscribers will have the option to receive email notifications when new content is posted to the Africans in Aviation website.
The default setting is for your subscription to renew automatically. At one (1) month, two (2) weeks and one (1) week prior to the automatic renewal, you will receive notification of the upcoming renewal.
